Bond wins contract for offshore air support with PSE Kinsale in Ireland

Bond, a Babcock International Group company, has agreed a new five-year contract with PSE Kinsale Energy for offshore helicopter support.

The contract will see Bond use a specially configured EC135T2+ aircraft, optimised for offshore operations, to take personnel and equipment to and from the gas fields 50 kilometres off the south coast of Ireland.

Managing director, Tim Shattock, said: “This new contract is a testament to the relationship we have developed with this customer in five years of delivering safe and reliable services. I am delighted we will continue to provide PSE Kinsale with the critical operations that are so important for offshore energy providers.”

Under the new contract Bond will continue to operate from facilities at Cork Airport which provides a base for 11 staff, including pilots, engineers and check-in.

Bond is the largest operator of air ambulance aircraft in the UK; it also provides services to UK police, offshore windfarms and the oil and gas industry. Bond operates a mixed fleet of light twin helicopters custom designed to perform specific and specialised tasks. It operates from 22 bases around the UK and in Ireland. It has two major maintenance facilities, Staverton and Glasgow.

PSE Kinsale Energy Limited has been producing natural gas from its facilities off the Old Head of Kinsale since 1978. They operate the Kinsale Head, Ballycotton and Seven Heads Gas Fields in the Celtic Sea, plus a natural gas storage field (Southwest Kinsale).
