Press Release
Issued by MT-Propeller .
September 30, 2015
MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received EASA STC #10033038-R1 for the next generation five-blade scimitar composite Quiet Fan Jet propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(P)/CFR225-55f on the Socata TBM 900 powered by the P&WC PT6A-66D turbine.
This installation is already supplemental type certified by FAA #SA02958NY.
MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht announced that, according to the certification flight test, the installation features the following advantages:
- Approx. 18 lbs less weight than the original metal propeller
- Cooler ITT on ground with condition lever at low and high idle position
- No propeller speed restrictions on ground while operating in low idle
- Outside noise reduction by 3 dB(A) inside by 1,5 dB(A)
Due to its smaller diameter the MT propeller for the Socata TBM 900 has more ground clearance resulting in less blade tip erosion.
The MT propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
All models comply with the strict 2010 German noise regulations, the Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung, for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.
A recent fly off between the MT-Propeller and the OEM TBM 900 propeller has shown that lower weight, lower vibration, lower inside/outside noise at the same performance and more comfort makes the MT an excellent choice for the TBM series aircraft.
MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 propeller models from two-blade to six-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 5000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.
The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft, and there are no current Airworthiness Directives (AD).
MT-Propeller is holder of over 200 STCs worldwide and the OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 30% of the US aircraft industry with more than 16,000 propeller systems flying.
Over 30 years ago, the first MT-Propeller was shipped and in July 2013, the 50,000th blade was shipped.
110 million fleet hours have already been performed on MT-Propellers. A factory certified network of 60 service centers, provides best service and maintenance all over the world.
