EASA STC for QFJ five-blade propeller on Cessna C208 Supervan 900 powered by Honeywell TPE331-12JR turbine

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received EASA STC #10054488 for the next generation five-blade scimitar composite Quiet Fan Jet propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFRL270-66 on the Cessna C208 Supervan 900 powered by the Honeywell TPE331-12JR turbine. The FAA STC is in progress.

According to MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht, the installation features the following advantages:

- 60 % vibration reduction on aircraft fuselage

- Approximately 14 kg (31 lbs) less weight than the original propeller

- Ground roll is reduced by 10% approximately 50 m (164 ft)

- Climb performance is improved by 5-8%

- Engine start up is 1/3rd faster for cooler engine temperatures and longer battery life

Due to its smaller diameter the MT-Propeller for the Cessna C208 Supervan 900 has more ground clearance, ensuring less blade tip erosion.

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades also provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. Their scimitar design has an unbeatable aesthetic ramp appeal.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.

All models comply with the strict 2010 German noise regulations, the Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung, for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.

MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 propeller models from two-blade to six-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 5000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.

The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft, and there are no current Airworthiness Directives (AD).

MT-Propeller is holder of over 200 STCs worldwide and the OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 30% of the US aircraft industry with more than 16,000 propeller systems flying.

Over 30 years ago, the first MT-Propeller was shipped and in July 2013, the 50,000th blade was shipped.

110 million fleet hours have already been performed on MT-Propellers. A factory certified network of 60 service centers, provides best service and maintenance all over the world.
