DragonFly to commence helicopter operations

DragonFly Executive Air Charter announced today, at the opening of BGAD 2015 at London Biggin Hill airport, that it has acquired a Bell 206 B3 JetRanger helicopter that will shortly be available for commercial charter from its main operating base at Cardiff Airport.

The company is presently in the process of obtaining approval from the CAA to extend its Air Operators Certificate to encompass rotary wing operations. The JetRanger has a range of 350 miles at a cruise speed of 130 kts, and can carry four passengers.

Howard Palser the founder and ceo of DragonFly said that the JetRanger was an immaculate low-hours aircraft that would make a superb addition to the company's existing fleet of three Beech BE200 King Air turboprops, and would enable DragonFly to meet local demand for short-haul helicopter journeys, and provide clients with direct access to the many sporting and entertainment events held around the country.

Mr Palser said that this was a particularly exciting time for DragonFly. Since obtaining its own AOC in December 2014 DragonFly has acquired G-OLIV a 2004 model King Air BE200 that is on display in the static park, and the company has attracted considerable interest from owners of other aircraft who are keen to add their aircraft to DragonFly's fleet.

Mr Palser confirmed that the company was committed to a policy of further growth and that he was in advanced discussions with a number of parties regarding the management and charter of additional turboprop and turbofan aircraft.
