January 29, 2015

Steve Hughes appointed chief operating officer (designate) at Rizon Jet UK

Rizon Jet UK is delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Hughes as chief operating officer.

Reporting to the ceo Allan McGreal, Steve's main responsibilities in addition to being the Part 145 post holder will include the continuing alignment of the two main operating businesses within Rizon Jet: its MRO and award winning FBO operations. Additionally all of the operational elements of the business will come under his supervision including customer services which accounts for utilisation of the award winning facility for events and location commitments, where the full alignment of the service led businesses will be complete.

Citing 2015 as the most significant year in the company's short but successful four years, Allan McGreal ceo puts this appointment as a pivotal role which underpins the surge into a strong performance for 2015 and the singularly exciting plan to consolidate its already highly successful business model and accelerate the completion of a reorganised maintenance and engineering capability.

Steve began his career in the UK Royal Air Force, followed by 25 years' experience in a variety of fields within business aviation, including maintenance manager within Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, with NetJets Europe culminating in director of maintenance and engineering and then a move to Hong Kong in 2012 where he joined MetroJet as director of maintenance and engineering, and accountable manager for the Part 145. His particular focus for the last 10 years has been both tactical and strategic growth of the operational MRO network. Steve retains his currency for B1 EASA and FAA A&P engineering licenses, and with these, has been able to extend his experience across different aircraft types, including varieties of Boeing, Bombardier, Citation, Embraer, Falcon, Gulfstream, and Hawker types, and has earned high regard from within the business aviation industry.

Ceo Allan McGreal said: “This is an important appointment for Rizon Jet and fulfils an essential addition to the company's leadership as the year looks to consolidate the hard work done and deliver a remarkable year of growth and success.”
