Total AOC audits Maldivian domestic carrier

Total AOC has completed a full operational audit of Maldivian domestic airline Flyme to help the carrier ensure it continues to operate with high levels of safety.

The team from Total AOC travelled from their home base at Biggin Hill to the Maldivian capital, Malé, to audit flight operations, ground operations and cabin standards for quality and safety. Flyme operates a range of turboprops to provide connections between the multiple islands that make up the Maldives, plus its unique luxury Seeplane for sightseeing and shark-spotting.

Flyme quality and safety manager Mohamed Ahmed says: “We selected Total AOC for our audit following recommendations from other operators. The qualifications and experience of their team was a key factor in making our decision to work with them.”

The result was a comprehensive report covering all aspects of Flyme's operations, helping the operator to understand where it is performing well, and where there is scope for improvement. The team at Total AOC also provided Flyme with guidance and advice to ensure compliance with the highest international aviation standards.

Julian Tubb, director, Total AOC, says: “Our work is truly international in scope and as a UK company, we have a wealth of experience working in one of the most rigorously regulated aviation sectors in the world. Every operator has a duty to be safe and compliant and we're pleased to share our expertise with a carrier that takes its responsibilities seriously.”

Flyme's experience of working with Total AOC has been very successful, leading to the two businesses scheduling to work together again this year. Ahmed says: “We've been very happy to work with Total AOC, their work has met with our expectations and we look forward to another audit with them in 2015.”
