JetHQ

Aircraft Sales/Acquisition

Press Release

Issued by JetHQ.

October 22, 2014

Ted Farid is appointed JetHQ chairman

JetHQ, the Middle East's fastest growing aircraft sales consultancy, today announced that Ted Farid will be joining the company as its first chairman. Mr. Farid has 47 years of global aviation leadership experience from some of the world's leading OEMs including Cessna, Learjet and Beechcraft. His experience brings sophisticated expertise and extensive global relationships to JetHQ clients.

Ted Farid started with Cessna in 1967 as a structural engineer and moved into sales and marketing for the Citation jet division in 1974. Mr. Farid held various senior leadership roles in special missions and commercial sales, eventually heading all international sales for Citation jets. During his tenure, he sold the first Citation into China in 1979.

Mr. Farid then moved to Learjet to run global sales and marketing for the iconic brand. He held the position until 1996 when he moved to Raytheon Aircraft to run special missions and domestic jets sales. He held senior leadership roles in international sales for the company through its incarnations as Raytheon, Hawker Beechcraft and Beechcraft until his retirement earlier this year.

“I really enjoyed working with Ted at Hawker Beechcraft,” said JetHQ managing director Garett Jerde.” He is the proverbial font of aviation knowledge – always willing to lend his five decades of expertise and knowledge to help get a deal across the line. He will now bring that sage wisdom and consultative approach to secure the best possible solutions for our clients.”

JetHQ was founded in order to simplify the process and reduce the complexity of international aircraft purchases. The company specializes in emerging markets and countries where the sales, importation and certification of aircraft can be complicated. The team works on behalf of its clients to identify the best aircraft for their requirements and then liaises with the OEMs or aircraft brokers to get the best available price, contract and delivery terms.

“Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of great and successful people,” said Mr Farid. “I have a passion for aviation and look forward to working with Garett once again and tackling some of the unique challenges of the emerging markets.”

Earlier this week, Mr. Farid was appointed to Nextant Aerospace's customer advisory board. The Board will help Nextant set strategic direction, shape product enhancements, improve customer support and select new product platforms. JetHQ is Nextant's exclusive sales agent for the Middle East.

“Ted is a legend in the aerospace industry who has unmatched personal relationships throughout the world,” said Sean McGeough, president and ceo of Nextant Aerospace. “His tireless work ethic, integrity and character have inspired an entire generation of aviation salespeople, including myself. We are proud to have him serve on our customer advisory board.”
