Garmin makes considerable progress toward completion of G5000 upgrade for Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP

Excitement surrounding the certification of the Garmin G5000 in the Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP continues as flight tests have made significant progress in the last several weeks.

The G5000 modernizes the cockpit, increases aircraft utility, provides additional weight savings, exceeds NextGen requirements and solves parts obsolescence, giving operators superior avionics capability and increasing value of their aircraft. Additionally, Garmin is thrilled to extend an invitation to visit the G5000 Integrated Flight Deck upgrade in the Beechjet 400A, which will be on static display at Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) during the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Exhibition & Convention, October 21-23, 2014.

Garmin recently celebrated the 63-minute maiden flight of the Beechjet 400A on September 16th, which took place at New Century AirCenter (KIXD) near Olathe, Kansas. In the last several weeks, flight test has conducted a series of flights and performed a number of equipment tests to bring the G5000 one-step closer to certification. The majority of the flight time has been devoted to a thorough checkout of the avionics suite, including tailoring the Garmin autopilot to the Beechjet airframe and an initial checkout of the Attitude Heading and Reference System (AHRS), air data computer, navigation and communication radios, as well as the weather radar. These successful and productive test flights are significant steps toward completion of the G5000 in the Beechjet 400A/ Hawker 400XP.

We welcome and encourage you to visit Garmin's static display area (#255) to see the Beechjet 400A featuring G5000 at NBAA in Orlando, Florida next week.
