Satcom1 AvioIP with eConnect on Bombardier aircraft receives EASA approval

Satcom1's AvioIP router software application suite has been installed on corporate, vvip, and head-of-state aircraft since 2005. The unique software suite has been a critical link between aeronautical satcom networks providing stability, reliability and host of new ''office in the sky'' features to passengers while in-flight.

AvioIP installed on Emteq's eConnect router has been recently activated on Bombardier's Global Express, delivering unique features such as: User Management (vip and guests service profiles interface to manage data bandwidth), data compression and acceleration along with dual SwiftBroadband channel aggregation guaranteeing data speed rate up to 800kbps.

The upgrade mentioned above was EASA certified with FAA and TCCA validations, which makes it first ever installation on such advanced features approved on Bombardier's Global Express. The installation has been completed by RUAG Aerospace Services GMBH.

“Satcom1 is extremely proud to partner with Emteq, who is very successful in achieving best class product with their eConnect Router/IFE/CMS product. eConnect is light and provides a large number of features in “one box” compared to connectivity and cabin networks just a few years ago. Emteq has successfully achieved a number of STCs, particularly targeting the mid-size business jet market and yet another Bombardier aircraft network is a great result. We believe, that they will have large success with their product. RUAG is reaching large success with their satcom network installs, so Satcom1 is proud to work with them and reach global connectivity with best performance result for use of email, internet and smartphone operations while in-flight” states Karina Larsen, Satcom1's vp partnerships & contracts.
