More private aircraft than ever flying in for Euro 2008 - ExecuJet

UEFA Euro 2008, hosted by Switzerland and Austria, attracted a significant number of visitors flying in by private jet, according to ExecuJet Europe. Its private aviation facility at Zurich airport experienced its busiest month of the year to date with more than 800 movements during June, representing an increase of 150% over an average month and eclipsing the former record movements achieved during the World Economic Forum (WEF) week in January.

On average, ExecuJet's Zurich-based FBO (fixed base operation) handled a third more jets flying in and out on the same day than during a normal week.  Peter Hartmann, Managing Director ExecuJet Switzerland, said: "The ExecuJet team had an extremely busy month with the football having a substantial impact on our usual monthly throughput.  I'm delighted that despite the massive increase in traffic, everything went very smoothly and passengers travelling through our private aviation facility were able to experience our usual high standards of customer care."

The jets flew in from cities all over Europe, with the bulk of the traffic originating in Austria, Germany and Spain.
