ExecuJet (UK) Ltd opens for business in London

ExecuJet Aviation Group announced today, 18 March, that it is establishing an initial new base in the UK - at London City Airport, the city's premier business airport. The move coincides with the addition of a UK Air Operator's Certificate, which was ratified by the UK Civil Aviation Authority last month.

"A presence in the United Kingdom is strategic to our European operations," said ExecuJet Group Managing Director Gerrit Basson. "We are very pleased to have our new UK AOC and to be opening an exclusive passenger lounge for its clients at London City Airport. These two initiatives represent the first steps into this exciting UK market and we are very much looking forward to working with the management at the highly successful Jet Centre to further enhance what has been a phenomenal success for business aviation there since it opened in 2002."

Effective immediately, ExecuJet is taking on the management of a Falcon 900 business jet, as the first aircraft on its AOC. A second long range aircraft will be added at the end of March and ExecuJet is also close to ratifying management contracts for further aircraft. These are scheduled to be added to the ExecuJet AOC in the near future and will be available for third party charter.

At London City Airport, John Brutnell will continue to head up ExecuJet's operations from the Jet Centre and this will be complemented shortly by a new management and sales office in the adjacent Canary Wharf, where ExecuJet Sales Director Troy Forsyth will be based, together with newly appointed Executive Director Group Sales Director Andrew Hoy. Andrew joined from Bombardier's SkyJet International in December.

ExecuJet (UK) Ltd will initially be home for 10 employees, increasing to 20 within the next six months.
