OHS Aviation Services and ACC Columbia intensify working relationship with complex refurbishment of Bombardier Global Express

OHS Aviation Services, the Berlin based specialists for aircraft interior refurbishment and cabin repairs, and ACC Columbia Jet Service, the German aircraft maintenance specialist, have recently completed an extensive refurbishment of a Global Express.

The move marks an intensification of the working relationship between the two companies, especially as the two companies have co-operated on earlier projects leading up to the complete refurbishment of the Global Express. The aircraft as recently returned to the owner after it had undergone a complete interior and exterior refurbishment and a full series of checks including the first 8-C Check carried out by ACC Columbia. A key element in the refurbishment has been how the two companies have complemented each other in carrying out the work. OHS Aviation Services worked on the refurbishment of the aircraft interior while ACC Columbia completed the maintenance requirements of the aircraft at their new facilities in Hannover.

OHS Aviation Services carried out a complete interior refurbishment which involved the installation of 1,100 sq feet of wood veneer, the gold plating of over 1,000 parts of the interior and the use of more than 80 hides of leather for seating and the aircraft interior. In addition the stone veneer of the floors and counter tops were replaced along with all the seat belts and regulatory placards. OHS Aviation assisted in the design of the interior and ensured it met all EASA standards and requirements. The refurbishment of this Global Express underlines the expertise and experience OHS Aviation Services have in working with Global Express aircraft, this was the 5th full refurbishment of a Global Express that OHS Aviation have worked with.

ACC Columbia Jet Service completed a full series of maintenance checks and repairs to the Global Express, including the first 8-C Check carried out by ACC Columbia. ACC Columbia Jet was not only entrusted with the 8C check but also installed more than 70 service bulletins (SB) and a new In-flight Entertainment system IFE system. The company is exhibiting at EBACE to promote their customized 24/7 maintenance and A.O.G. service according to Part-145 and the services of their Design Organization (Part-21) and CAMO (Part-M).

OHS Aviation Services and ACC Columbia Jet Service have worked jointly on other aircraft but this project marks the closest co-operation between the two companies so far. The move means that the two companies can provide a professional full refurbishment and maintenance service for ACC Columbia Jet Service customers.

Speaking about the refurbishment of the Global Express OHS Aviation Services CEO, Ornulf Hilarius said "This was a great project for us, quite an incredible amount to wood veneer and gold plating for a cabin interior. We are very happy to have been able to be a part of this project and for co-operation of ACC Columbia in helping us with the completion refurbishment of this aircraft."

ACC Columbia Jet Service executive Karsten Schaefer added "We are very pleased how our working relationship with OHS Aviation is progressing and look forward to more joint projects in the future."
