Bombardier Business Aircraft names Frank Gehry as global brand ambassador

Bombardier Aerospace, the world's leading business aircraft manufacturer, today welcomed highly acclaimed Frank Gehry as a Global aircraft brand ambassador. Gehry joins maestro Valery Gergiev and classical pianist Lang Lang in representing Bombardier Business Aircraft's flagship brand through the I Am Global campaign.

Frank Gehry's works are recognized worldwide as being among the most important works of contemporary architecture. His works include the titanium-covered Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Cinémathèque française in Paris and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. His many projects around the world require him to travel extensively and remain productive while flying, making business aviation a natural fit for his lifestyle.

"Through his creativity, visionary thinking and ability to shape the way we see and experience our world and our environment, Frank Gehry is a true innovator in every sense," said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "His drive and passion to redefine the boundaries of architecture are parallel with our approach of designing technologically advanced aircraft and bringing them to market. Frank can truly say 'I Am Global' and we are delighted to have him on board."

Canadian-born, Gehry has won several awards during his illustrious career, including the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Henry C. Turner Prize for Innovation in Construction Technology and a Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architecture in recognition of his significant body of work having a lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture. The choice by 52 architectural experts of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao as the most important piece of architecture built since 1980 led Vanity Fair magazine to name him "the most important architect of our age" in July 2010.

"Each Global aircraft is like a work of art, and I can truly appreciate the design and craftsmanship that goes into building these amazing aircraft," said Mr. Gehry. "Form truly meets functional in these jets, and it is wonderful to be able to travel so efficiently and comfortably in an environment on-par with the best-designed spaces."
