PrivateFly.com launches android app, for instant private jet pricing on the move

Online private jet hire platform, PrivateFly.com, has announced an expansion to its mobile application services. Following its successful iPhone and iPad app launch last year, which was the world's first mobile app to give instant private jet hire costs, the company has now developed and launched the equivalent technology for the Android platform. Android is now the UK's fastest-growing and most popular mobile operating system with over 45 per cent market share (1).

The app is free to download on either platform and instructs the phone user to enter the dates of their trip together with departure and arrival locations (a search facility for airfield name or city is included). A price estimate appears on-screen in seconds, with a choice of aircraft, including photos and specifications. The estimated price is calculated by PrivateFly's bespoke software, giving a highly accurate indicator of market pricing.

Then, with one touch, multiple aircraft charter operators from PrivateFly's accredited global network can be invited to give live quotes – giving the most competitive price available. These can be provided by email or via telephone by PrivateFly's team, available 24 hours a day. The booking process is straightforward and the flight can be in the air in a matter of hours.

Adam Twidell, CEO of PrivateFly.com, comments: "We launched our unique app for iPhone and iPad in 2010 and it has proved very popular with customers, who find it quick and easy to use - and enjoy its immediacy of pricing and aircraft information.

"With the Android platform becoming increasingly popular, and following demand from our customers, we have now launched the equivalent app for Android users.

"We will continue to look at how we can develop and enhance our mobile applications, recognising that travellers at all levels are demanding greater choice and control in booking travel on the move – private jets are certainly not immune to these overall consumer trends. Although of course, it's critical that such technological developments sit side-by-side with the personalised VIP support that private jet customers demand and expect."
