Bombardier saddened by loss of James Hoblyn

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the sudden passing of our friend and colleague, James Hoblyn, President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft. James passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011. This devastating news has shaken all of us at Bombardier. Our thoughts and prayers are with James’ wife Josée and their three daughters and we are providing them with our support. James’ boundless passion for our industry and his unrelenting focus on customer experience will leave a lasting imprint on us all. His contributions, kind spirit and quick wit will be deeply missed. Under James’ leadership these past years, the Customer Services team has evolved tremendously. To ensure its continued growth, Michael McQuay will oversee all areas of Bombardier Customer Services in the interim, while retaining his current role as President, Aircraft Service Centres. Michel Bourgeois, President, Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft & Military Aviation Training, retains his current responsibilities. On Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 8 a.m. (EDT), Bombardier will hold a minute of silence in honour of James. We have also established an online page for those wishing to share their condolences with the Hoblyn family. http://customerservices.aero.bombardier.com/JamesRemembered Thank you. Guy Hachey
