GECI scoops Asian orders for Skylander

This 21st June was an exceptional day for GECI Aviation at the Le Bourget show. The day was marked by several important signatures: 5 Skylanders for Kan Air in Thailand Kan Airlines signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for 5 Skylanders including 3 options. Kan Airlines is a private company providing scheduled and charter flights in Thailand and neighbouring countries from several airports in the north of the country including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai and Nan - areas where the infrastructure is limited and where climatic conditions are difficult and for which the Skylander is perfectly suited. 20 Skylander for PT Sky Aviation in Indonesia Signature of a major MOU for 20 Skylanders, including 10 options, in the commuter version, with PT Sky Aviation, in the presence of the Indonesian Transport Minister. This signature follows the LOI announced by GECI Aviation on 17 June. On signature, Krisnan Tarigan, CEO of PT Sky Aviation, declared: "Indonesia is an immense country, with hundreds of airports, from basic runways to the international airports. The ambition of PT SKY Aviation being to fly everywhere, starting with the Indonesian skies, an aircraft like the Skylander, operational in all conditions will allow us to offer the best service to our customers. " "The Skylander is particularly well suited to our regional transport needs," adds Yusuf Ardhi Boediono, Chairman of PT SKY Aviation, "it will be an invaluable support in developing the company in new markets". Firm orders for Trans Asia in Malaysia: 8 firm orders and 4 options The Malaysian Transasia Resources company, represented by its Chairman Dato HI Mazlan bin Hi Nasiron, signed an order for 8 Skylander SK-105, with an option for four additional aircraft. The operator will use these aircraft for charter transport in the service of travel organisers in the islands of this region, in Thailand, in Indonesia, in the East of Malaysia and in Borneo.

This order marks the entry of the Skylander into the Asian market, to which it is perfectly suited. Other highlights for this day, The visit to the GECI International stand by a delegation from the French Ministry of Defence led by Monsieur GĂ©rard Longuet, Minister of Defence, who has supported the Skylander programme since its installation in Lorraine and who has reiterated his support. The Minister, a pilot, particularly appreciated the very modern aircraft cockpit with ergonomics particularly designed for the comfort and safety of the crew. The Skylander, an aircraft with exceptional performance Modern, robust and simple, the Skylander SK-105 is a twin turboprop aircraft, dedicated to regional passenger and freight transport, medical evacuation, or a mission aircraft role. The Skylander responds to the needs of companies operating in difficult terrain with limited infrastructure. Its modernity, its performances, very advantageous price, and low operating costs give it a significant competitive advantage in a category where ageing aircraft are being reindustrialised and do not respond to the market's needs. A new generation aircraft, the Skylander aims to be the heir to legendary aircraft like the Broussard or DC-3, capable of transporting 19 passengers or 2.7 tonnes of freight and operating in extreme temperature and altitude conditions, on airports as well as short basic runways. Developed by Sky Aircraft, a GECI Aviation subsidiary, the SK-105 will make its first flight during the first half of 2012, for certification twelve months later followed by deliveries. Over 1,500 Skylander aircraft will leave the Sky Aircraft assembly lines between 2013 and 2030.
