Daher appoints TBM dealer for Indian subcontinent

Daher today announced the appointment of SRK Aviacom (I) Pvt. Ltd. as the area sales representative for TBM very fast aircraft on the Indian subcontinent. Based at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, Aviacom is a leading sales organization for aircraft and helicopters in India, as well as a provider of professional flight simulators.

"With an emerging demand for TBM aircraft in India, we selected Aviacom as our partner to spearhead the sales outreach in this market," commented Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of the Daher airplane business unit. Dassault unveils Falcon 6X

Dassault Aviation today unveiled the Falcon 6X, the most spacious, advanced and versatile twinjet in business aviation. This new 5,500 nm aircraft will make its first flight in early 2021 and begin deliveries in 2022.

Pratt & Whitney Canada's PurePower PW800 engines have been selected to power the Falcon 6X, which offers the largest, quietest and most comfortable cabin of any aircraft in its class and more cabin volume than any other Falcon ever designed. It comes equipped with the industry's most advanced digital flight control and cockpit technologies, drawing on heritage from other recent Falcon models and fighter jet programs.

Leonardo secures Chinese orders

Leonardo announced today that Sino-US Intercontinental Helicopter Investment (Sino-US) of China has signed contracts for additional 26 helicopters, including seven AW119Kx single engine, 15 AW109 Trekker light twins and four AW139 intermediate twins with deliveries expected to start this year through to 2019. The contracts are valued in excess of 120 million euro.

The orders follow a series of contracts, particularly for EMS helicopters, signed by Sino-US in recent years which include 25 AW119Kx single engines and a mix of 30 AW139s and AW169s in 2016, followed by 10 AW109 Trekkers in 2017. These latest orders strengthen the collaboration between Leonardo Helicopter and Sino-US in China, including Hong Kong and Macau.

Airbus Helicopters inks contracts from Japan

Airbus Helicopters has secured new contracts for three helicopters from Japanese operators, following its successful start to the New Year with recent contract announcements for one new H135 and an AS365 N3+. With this new stream of orders, Airbus Helicopters has received orders for a total of five helicopters in the first quarter of 2018, reinforcing its market position in Japan.

The first contract was signed with existing customer Auto Panther, for one ACH130 featuring Airbus' signature 'Stylence by ACH' luxury interiors, which offers a dynamic, sports car inspired interior design. The first in Japan to operate the ACH130, the company will use the helicopter for corporate VIP transportation in Kagoshima, south of Japan.

Deer Jet, the Asian premier business aviation group, has earned International Standard for Business Aircraft Operation IS-BAO Stage II registration for its Beijing and Shanghai branches, highlighting the company's unbreakable commitment to excellence and its adherence to the highest international standards for its safety management systems (SMS).

The International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO), developed by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and its member associations, is a code of best practices designed for flight operators to achieve and assess high levels of safety and professionalism. The standards recommended by IS-BAO are based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS), and are recognized by aviation authorities worldwide.

Jet Aviation Hong Kong wins approval for N-reg Falcons

Jet Aviation recently received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorizing its MRO facility in Hong Kong to support 48- and 36-month inspections on N-registered Dassault Falcon 7X/8X and Falcon 900 series aircraft, respectively.

As a fully authorized Dassault Falcon line service center, this approval permits the Jet Aviation maintenance facility in Hong Kong to extend its existing FAA approval to further support 48-month inspections for Dassault Falcon 7X/8X aircraft and 36-month inspections for Dassault Falcon 900 series aircraft.

Hongkong Jet expands MRO capabilities

Hongkong Jet has today announced the upgrade and expansion of its HKAR-145 maintenance capabilities to include approval to certify the Gulfstream G550 to 144MOS/12C level.

The G550 aircraft type first entered into service around 2003-4 and as aircraft age, the checks required to keep them flying become more in-depth and complex. Under the new approval upgrade, the entire greater China fleet of 40 G550s is now covered under the company's Hong Kong 145 and joint maintenance management (JMM) approvals.

Sikorsky names Thai service centre

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, has authorized Thai Aviation Services to operate as the first Sikorsky customer support center in Thailand. The announcement came at the 2018 Helicopter Association International Heli-Expo Trade Show & Exposition.

This new customer support center comes soon after Thai Aviation Services completed upgrading its fleet following the delivery of five S-76D medium lift helicopters and two S-92 heavy lift helicopters throughout 2016 and 2017. Thai Aviation Services has conducted its offshore operations for oil and gas producing companies for 30 years, utilizing Sikorsky helicopters exclusively. Its fleet now totals eight Sikorsky aircraft, including a Sikorsky S-76C++ helicopter.

Hawker Pacific to double size of operations at Seletar

Hawker Pacific Asia and Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Singapore Airshow last week to expand Hawker Pacific's operations across an extra 16,000 sqm (172,223 sq. ft) of land in the Seletar Aerospace Park. This will see Hawker Pacific's footprint there almost double from its current 9,400 sqm (101,000 sq. ft.).

Witnessing the ceremony at the Singapore Airshow 2018 were Alan Smith, CEO, Hawker Pacific and Ng Lang, CEO, JTC. Signatories included Louis Leong, vice president, Hawker Pacific Asia and, Glory Wee, director, aerospace, marine and urban solutions, JTC.

Weststar Aviation joins P&WC fleet management program

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has signed a 13-year Fleet Management Program (FMP) agreement with Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-based Weststar Aviation Services that covers its fleet of 44 PT6C-67C engines that power 22 Leonardo AW139 helicopters. P&WC is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.

Paradise Helicopters signs for Kopter SH09

Kopter Group AG announced today the signature of a memorandum of agreement with Paradise Helicopters for the purchase of four SH09 helicopters to be delivered after the helicopter is awarded FAA certification, which is expected around end of 2019.

K-MAX begins operations in China

Kaman Aerosystems, a division of the aerospace segment of Kaman Corporation, announced today at HAI Heli-Expo that the K-MAX helicopter has been certified by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and operator Guangdong Juxiang General Aviation Co. Ltd, based in the Guangdong Province, has commenced operations with its K-MAX aircraft.

Heliflite China appointed Airbus Helicopters distributor

Airbus Helicopters has signed with Heliflite China for an order of seven H125 and three H130 aircraft. The company, based in Xian, China, has also been accredited as an official Airbus Helicopters distributor in the region, supporting Airbus' growth in this rapidly developing market.
